"It's class warfare and my class is winning." Warren Buffett

The value of any commodity, ... to the person who possesses it, and who means not to use or consume it himself, but to exchange it for other commodities, is equal to the quantity of labour which it enables him to purchase or command. Labour, therefore, is the real measure of the exchangeable value of all commodities. (Adam Smith, Wealth of Nations Book 1, chapter V.)

The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works....(Barack Obama)

John McCain Humiliates Himself Again: Equating al Qaeda with the Shia

Really now, this is Islam 101. Al Qaeda is a Sunni group not a Shiite one. Yet McCain's gaffes during his recent ballyhooed Middle East War Presidential Candidate tour didn't provide the elementary intellectual correction. At today's Armed Services Committee he once more equated al Qaeda with the Shia:
JOHN MCCAIN: "There are numerous threats to security in Iraq and the
future of Iraq. Do you still view al-Qaeda in Iraq as a major threat?"

GEN. DAVID PETRAEUS: "It is a major threat. Though it is certainly as not as major a threat as it was say, 15 months ago."

MCCAIN: "Certainly not an obscure sect of the Shias overall?

PETRAEUS: "No, sir."

MCCAIN: "Or Sunnis or anybody else then?

The hyped patina of his so-called expertise notwithstanding, I increasingly get the impression that McCain's knowledge-base basically consists of the belief that all Muslims look the same to him.
