Afghan Christian Convert Freed!
Thanks to international pressure, Abdul Rahman, the Afghan aid worker on trial and facing the death penalty for converting to Christianity, has had all charges dropped against him and will be released soon from detention. The pretext for releasing him is “lack of evidence.”
Although the charges could be reinstated, it’s doubtful they will. Probably the Afghan central government would love for this case to go away. Whatever. As long as this man’s basic human rights are no longer jeopardized, this can only be seen as good news.
With any luck, the Afghan government will drop this odious law.
