"It's class warfare and my class is winning." Warren Buffett

The value of any commodity, ... to the person who possesses it, and who means not to use or consume it himself, but to exchange it for other commodities, is equal to the quantity of labour which it enables him to purchase or command. Labour, therefore, is the real measure of the exchangeable value of all commodities. (Adam Smith, Wealth of Nations Book 1, chapter V.)

The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works....(Barack Obama)

New Additions to the Blogroll: Jokers to the Right & Delawareliberal

I’ve added the website Jokers to the Right to my blogroll. Ryan, who runs the site, describes it as “Musings of a Conservative College Student.” I met Ryan two nights ago at the Delaware Press Association meeting at Klondike Kate’s in Newark DE.

Ryan is a very personable young man, a Republican and a conservative. I started reading his site recently. I enjoy it. It’s thoughtfully and intelligently written and there is none of the rabid, frothing hatefulness that characterizes right-wing sites like
The Colossus of Ridiculousness.

The difference is important and real. Reading Colossus is like being detained at Gitmo, tied in a fetal position, and being forced to listen to Hannity or Limbaugh in high decibels for over 24 hours. Reading
Jokers to the Right, however, is like watching an episode of Firing Line on a Sunday afternoon and then having a thoughtful discussion about it afterwards with friends. I highly recommend Ryan’s site and I hope to get to know Ryan more in the future.

Another site I am adding is Delawareliberal. The site is hosted by “Jason,” a name that is familiar to those who read comments on Delaware related blogsites. I’ve never met Jason, but as far as I can tell is Jason is a Democrat and, as his blog’s name indicates, liberal. One of the things I enjoy about Jason is his marvelous sense of humor. His blog is also intelligently written and I highly recommend it as well.
